Not just a pretty picture
In over 20 years taking photos, I have seen many 'pretty' pictures. I've had clients come to me who have had big, fancy photo sessions and leave without a photo that represents them. A great photo isn't about me as a photographer, but YOU, the subject. What does it say? Does it show the real you and your real personality. Does it make people want to learn more? A pristine, idealized version of you that doesn't represent the person that will be seen in person serves no purpose, unless of course you are a print model and need to show versions of what you can be. But, that is a different image all together.
